Shearer's Scores "Superior" Rating From AIB

Shearer’s Foods achieved a “Superior” rating on their recent American Institute of Baking (AIB) audit, according to the criteria and rating system described in the AIB Consolidated Standards for Food Safety Manual.

Ken Brower, Brewster Plant Manager, commented, "Shearer's has had Superior ratings every year since 2003. Our team continues to improve it's performance level and I'm pleased to be able to announce another Superior rating for us for 2008. The auditor noted that we continue to be one of the best plants he visits. I'm extremely proud of our Shearer's team and their relentless pursuit of Shearer Perfection."

AIB was founded in 1919 by the North American wholesale and retail baking industries as a technology transfer center for bakers and food processors. Experts in the fields of nutrition, food safety and hygiene, occupational safety and maintenance engineering are included on AIB’s staff. A typical AIB audit involves two days of intense inspections covering food safety, processing, sanitation, shipping and storage. It is important to note that AIB is an independent auditing service with no loyalties to the Shearer’s facility.

The “Superior” rating is just another reason why consumers continue to view Shearer’s Foods as an industry leader in Quality and Food Safety.
