Shearer's Named a Finalist in Cool Places to Work Competition for Sustainability

Shearer’s Foods was honored as a Finalist in the area of Sustainability in the inaugural Cool Places to Work Competition. The First Dynasty of Coolness, sponsored by Crain’s Cleveland Business, was celebrated in the Silver Grille in the Higbee Building in downtown Cleveland on September 24, 2008. Area businesses were recognized as the coolest of cool in the following categories: Sustainability, Social Networking, Best Perks, Cool Space, Interesting Space, Community Service and Just Plain Cool.

Crain’s publisher Brian Tucker said the publication received nearly 200 nominations from more than 100 area businesses for the contest. The entries were judged by a panel of recruiting, human resources and business practice experts. More than 300 people attended the networking reception.

The event was sponsored by the Ritz Carlton, the employment law firm Littler Mendelson PC, Cedar Point and the city of Solon.
