Shearer's Wins Manny Award for Green Initiatives

Once again, Shearer’s Foods, Inc. has achieved manufacturing excellence as a 2009 Manny Award winner. Shearer’s is a three-time winner of this highly coveted award.

Inside Business magazine editors, along with a team of business leaders, selected the winners of twelve different categories from a group of prestigious manufacturing leaders in Northeast Ohio. Nominated companies were evaluated on their innovation and best practices. Now in its twelfth year, the Manny Awards program recognizes the top area manufacturers.

Shearer’s Foods was celebrated as a winner in the “Green Initiative” category. Scott Weyandt, Shearer’s Facilities Manager, explains how Shearer’s is fine-tuning its sustainability efforts in the May issue of Inside Business magazine. The awards dinner took place on May 14 at Windows on the River in downtown Cleveland.

Manny Awards are presented by Inside Business magazine in partnership with the Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network (MAGNET), Bricker & Eckler Attorneys-at-Law and Grant Thornton.
