    Shearer's Supplier Golf Event Raises $65,000 For Pegasus Farm

    Brewster, Ohio: On September 14, 2009, Shearer’s Foods, Inc. held its annual Supplier Golf Event at Glenmoor Country Club. $65,000 was donated to Pegasus Farm in memory of Cole Surmay, son of Steve and Stacie Surmay. Steve is Senior Vice President of Manufacturing at Shearer’s, and a 28-year Shearer’s associate. A check was presented to Mrs. Eileen Wile, President of the Pegasus Board of Directors, on behalf of Shearer’s Foods and their loyal suppliers.

    Pegasus Farm, located in Hartville, Ohio, is a horse-based teaching and healing center dedicated to helping children and adults with disabilities achieve enjoyable and productive lives. Programs are tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual and provide physical and psychological therapy with documented improvements in motor, cognitive, perceptual and social development. Pegasus Farm and its instructors are fully accredited by the Certified Horsemanship Association and the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association, which set quality and safety standards for therapeutic riding nationwide.
