Brewster, Ohio:  On September 12, 2011, Shearer’s Foods, Inc. held its annual Supplier Golf Event at Glenmoor Country Club.  $90,000 was donated to Pegasus Farm in memory of Cole Surmay, son of Steve and Stacie Surmay.  Steve is Senior Vice President of Co-Pack Operations, and a 30 year Shearer’s associate.  A check was presented to Mr. Don Schenck, Interim Executive Director of Pegasus Farm, on behalf of Shearer’s Foods and their loyal suppliers.  Proceeds from the live auction, $10,000, go directly to the COLE SURMAY SCHOLARSHIP FUND, which enables children to attend the program regardless of their financial status.  Pegasus Farm, located in Hartville, Ohio, is a horse-based teaching and healing center dedicated to helping children and adults with disabilities achieve enjoyable and productive lives.  Programs are tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual and provide physical and psychological therapy with documented improvements in motor, cognitive, perceptual and social development.  For more information on Pegasus Farm please visit their website: www.pegasusfarm.org.
